ASTEN offers two Professional Development Fellowships each year as well as two Conference Fellowships.
Professional Development Fellowship
Two fellowships of $1500 each are offered annually to support staff of ASTEN member institutions towards a project which involves travel to another science centre or museum and a minimum stay of five days. It is expected that the institutions involved will provide support ranging from continued salary to additional assistance.
Preference is given to applicants who have limited opportunities to meet professional science centre staff from other organisations.
Project proposals must have a clear focus and demonstrate how it will benefit not only the recipient but also ASTEN and its member organisations. Possible projects might include learning about marketing strategies at another centre, working with a staff member at another centre to co-develop a new public program, or sharing exhibit ideas with designers and workshop staff.
Application form available here.
Conference Fellowship
Two fellowships are being offered for the ASPAC Conference in Singapore in 16-21 April 2012. Each fellowship is for up to $2500 to assist covering travel and accommodation costs. Conference fees will also be paid for the fellowship recipient. These fellowships are only open to Member institutions and applicants will need to demonstrate the benefit to themselves in their current role within the institution and must have the approval of their Director or Manager..
