ASTEN offers two Professional Development Fellowships each year as well as two Conference Fellowships.

Professional Development Fellowship
Two fellowships of $1500 each are offered annually to support staff of ASTEN member institutions towards a project which involves travel to another science centre or museum and a minimum stay of five days.  It is expected that the institutions involved will provide support ranging from continued salary to additional assistance.

Preference is given to applicants who have limited opportunities to meet professional science centre staff from other organisations.

Project proposals must have a clear focus and demonstrate how it will benefit not only the recipient but also ASTEN and its member organisations.  Possible projects might include learning about marketing strategies at another centre, working with a staff member at another centre to co-develop a new public program, or sharing exhibit ideas with designers and workshop staff.

Application form available here.

Conference Fellowships
Two Fellowships are to be offered for the 2010 ASPAC Conference hosted by Otago Museum, Dunedin, New Zealand.
In order to support staff from member institutions, who may otherwise not get the opportunity to attend this conference an amount of $1000 will now be available to apply for.
This Fellowship is open only to member institutions and applicants will need to demonstrate the benefit to themselves in their role within the institution and must have the approval of your Director/Manager.
Application form available here.
