ASTEN offers two Professional Development Fellowships each year and commencing in 2007 we are also offering two Conference Fellowships which will provide funds to support travel to the annual ASTEN conference for 2 staff from member institutions.
Professional Development Fellowship
Two fellowships of $1500 each are offered annually to support staff of ASTEN member institutions towards a project which involves travel to another science centre or museum and a minimum stay of five days. It is expected that the institutions involved will provide support ranging from continued salary to additional assistance.
Preference is given to applicants who have limited opportunities to meet professional science centre staff from other organisations. Application form available here.
Project proposals must have a clear focus and demonstrate how it will benefit not only the recipient but also ASTEN and its member organisations. Possible projects might include learning about marketing strategies at another centre, working with a staff member at another centre to co-develop a new public program, or sharing exhibit ideas with designers and workshop staff.
Conference Fellowships
Two new Fellowships are to be offered for the 2007 conference. In order to support staff from member institutions, who may otherwise not get the opportunity to attend this conference an amount of $1000 will now be available to apply for.
This Fellowship is open only to member institutions and applicants will need to demonstrate the benefit to themselves in their role within the institution and must have the approval of your Director/Manager.
Official application forms for 2007 will be distributed to member institutions. Click here to download an official application form. Additional copies of the application can be obtained from:
